Casa/Estudio B'atz'
Casa/Estudio B'atz' is a multidisciplinary house created in 2012 in Sierras Chicas, in the province of Córdoba, by Graciela De Oliveira, trained in architecture, art and anthropology.
It is part of the artistic device Demolición/Construcción, a project that proposes specific times for meetings between artists and researchers.
The residency is oriented to the creative process, focusing on the development of project content, and aims to be a time and a space for the exchange of theoretical knowledge and experiences. Each residency is tailored to the needs of the artists and does not request any specific project prior to their stay, but they are encouraged to be open-minded in order to work critically and collectively. The B'atz' House/Studio welcomes artists and researchers from all disciplines for a period ranging from one month to one year, with the possibility of a fellowship program managed by the residency applicants or a work exchange program that would cover the costs of the stay.
Up to three artists may be on site at the same time, in which case some will be able to share a room and will have access to a private studio, a darkroom, a library with 4000 books dedicated to interdisciplinary practices and a yoga room. In addition, they will receive assistance and mentoring from the program's founder and her community of eminent professors and researchers in the field of art and culture. Residents are free to organize workshops, classes or readings for the local community or in the city of Córdoba, and the residency generally ends with a public presentation to tell about their experience and what they see fit to show.
