Aloardi
The independent collective Aloardi started in 1998 as one of the first Latin American labels dedicated to the promotion and diffusion of electronic and experimental music.
Created by Gabriel Castillo, Chrs Galarreta, and Janneke van der Putten, the collective included more and more practices and disciplines over the years, like media arts, sound interventions, acoustic research, and autochthonous cultural expression from Central and South America. The collective is currently engaged in (non)technological resources, sustainable work, and exchange with communities locally and internationally.
Since 2004, Aloardi based its infrastructures in Lima where they develop their residency programs, a media library, workshops, and organize numerous events and trans-disciplinary exhibitions.
The residency period can vary from two weeks to one month, and all levels of artists can apply to the program. Up to two artists can have a private room, companion friendly, or shared rooms as collectives of artists are welcome as well. Artists in residence will be granted a private studio and assistance from the collective’s members on its project. In addition, the partnership between Aloardi and the Colmena Lab allows the artists to have access to laser-cut machines, 3D printers, electronic workshops, audiovisual equipment, and sound recording rooms.
During their stay, the artists can organize or take part in workshops, expeditions, open-studios, performances, readings, or professional coaching in the house.
