Experiences in Residence
May 22rd, 2018 – Buenos Aires, Argentina
PANAL 361 invites on May 22rd, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. to the inauguration of “EXPERIENCIA RESIDENCIAS”.
The event proposes to expose, reflect, dialogue and show experiences on art residencies.
On the ground floor you can find two Solo Show.
In Room 1 the exhibition “Urban Catalog / Blueprint Factory” by Francisco Estarellas will be presented, curated by Karina Acosta in which her artist’s book, the process and the artisanal production devices will be presented. The book – which this year will participate in the Island Editions of arteBA 2018, Independent section curated by Pulso – panorama of independent publications – contains a repertoire of architectural fragments crossed by the look of a possible urban deconstruction. Part of the process was carried out during 2017 at his Residencia de Arte Panal (RAP) in Taller Bloc, Santiago (Chile).
Room 2 will present “Claroscuro” by Valentino Sibadón, special guest from Peru who is producing the show during his RAP residence. With Helena Ferronato’s curatorship, the exhibition will consist of street interventions with sculptural pieces and a series of paintings that will denote interaction with the local landscape.
In the Antesala, there will be a space dedicated to Video Art with the participation of artists who made RAP residences and are currently outside the city, Hernán Paganini (California), Roma Blanco (NY), Ivana Salfity (Salta) and Marcos Mangani ( Berlin).
All PANAL 361 will be taken by “micro-samples” of artists who have made Honeywell Residences (RAP). They will be visual, sound, electronic, audiovisual interventions, installations and performances designed for the event. With the participation of Constanza Castagnet, Mariano Goto, Romina Estecher, Hernán Salvo, Erica Bohm, Eugenia Foguel, Hernan Kerlleñevich, Kim Annika Welling, David Pimentel Segura and Natalia Marcantoni.
There will also be a Molten Capital-Chile space, with work by Ben Zawalich, Gabriela Acha, Lucas Estévez and a distance participant, from his residence with work Jimena Brescia (in MAC Quinta Normal, Santiago de Chile).
In the two upper floors you can visit, as usual, PANAL OPEN, the 36 studios of artists open to the public. Several of them crossed by the theme of residences and others from the practice proposing participatory experiences of immersion in their disciplines.
Within this framework, the Program of Federal Residences of Art of PANAL 361 will begin in partnership with the Culture Program of the CFI with the presence of the first resident of Argentina, from the NOA region: Josefina Puch, from Tilcara. In addition, Artists In Residence TV (France) will set up an audiovisual living room that will tell about the residency programs of the world with an emphasis on Latin America in the format of videos of approx. 3 minutes each in continuous projection.
The exhibition will remain open until May 30th, with activations at different times and a day of open talks.
